Prayers of the Saints

By asking for the intercession of the Saints, they do not somehow stand between us and Jesus, but rather along side us during our time of need. We have compiled a list of some of the more well known Saints and Beatified people from the earliest days of the church up until our present times. Their Prayers and words of wisdom have brought hope and comfort to us all throughout the centuries and continue to do so. All Pencil drawings are beautifully drawn by Mariola K. Paini, “Artist of the Saints”.

Saint Augustine Prayers for the dead

Prayer of Trust in God’s Heavenly Promise

My God, Let me know and love you, so that I may find my happiness in You. Since I cannot fully achieve this on earth, help me to improve daily until I may do so to the full. Enable me to know You ever more on earth, so that I may know You perfectly in Heaven. In that way, my joy may be great on earth, and perfect with You in Heaven. O God of truth, grant me the happiness of Heaven so that my joy may be full in accord with Your promise. In the meantime let my mind dwell on that happiness, my tongue speak of it, my heart pine for it, my mouth pronounce it, my soul hunger for it, and my entire being desire it until I enter through death in the joy of my Lord forever Amen.

Late Have I loved You

Late have I loved You, beauty so ancient and so new, late have I loved You. Lo, You were within, but I outside, seeking there for You, and upon the shapely things You have made, I rushed headlong – I, misshapen. You were with me, but I was not with You. They held me back far from You, those things which would have no being, were they not in You! You called, shouted, broke through my deafness, you flared, blazed, banished my blindness; You lavished Your fragrance, I gasped, and now I pant for You; I tasted You, and now I hunger and thirst; You touched me, and I burned for Your peace Amen.

Lord, You were Rich

Lord, You were rich, yet, for our sakes, You became poor. You promised in Your gospel that whatever is done for the least of Your brothers & sisters is done for You. Give us grace to be always willing and ready to provide for the needs of those whose parents have died or whose homes are broken, that Your kingdom of service and love may extend throughout the world, to Your unending glory Amen.

Act of Hope

For Your mercies’ sake, O Lord my God, tell me what You are to me. Say to my soul: “I am Your salvation.” So speak that I may hear, O Lord; my heart is listening; open it that it may hear You, and say to my soul: “I am Your salvation.” After hearing this word, may I come in haste to take hold of You. Hide not Your face from me. Let me see Your face even if I die, lest I die with longing to see it. The house of my soul is too small to receive You; let it be enlarged by You. It is all in ruins; do You repair it. There are things in it – I confess and know – that must offend Your sight. But who shall cleanse it? Or to what others besides You shall I cry out? From my secret sins cleanse me, O Lord, and from those of others spare Your servent Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mercy

Blessed Virgin Mary, who can worthily repay You with praise and thanks for having rescued a fallen world by Your generous consent! Receicve our gratitude and by Your prayers obtain the pardon of our sins. Take our prayers into the sanctuary of Heaven and enable them to make our peace with God. Holy Mary, help the miserable, strengthen the discouraged, comfort the sorrowful, pray for Your people, plead for the clergy, intercede for all women consecrated to God. May all who venerate You feel now Your help and protection. Be ready to help us when we pray and bring back to us the answers to our prayers. Make it Your continual concern to pray for the people of God, for You were blessed by God, and were made worthy to bear the redemer of the world, who lives and reigns forever Amen.

Saint Catherine of Siena prayers for the dead
1347-1380

To the Precious Blood of Jesus

Precious Blood, Ocean of divine mercy, flow upon us. Precious Blood, Most pure offering, procure us every grace. Precious Blood, Hope and refuge of sinners, atone for us. Precious Blood, Delight of Holy Souls, draw us, Amen.Saint Catherina of Siena Prayers

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, come into my heart, draw it to Thee by Thy power, O my God and grant me charity with filial fear. Preserve me, O ineffable love, from every evil thought, warm me, inflame me with Thy dear love, and every pain will seem light to me. My Father, my sweet Lord, help me in all my actions. Jesus, love, Jesus, love. Amen.

Love Undefiled

Eternal God, Eternal Trinity You have made the Blood of Christ so precious through his sharing in your divine nature. You are a mystery as deep as the sea, the more I search, the more I find, and the more I find, the more I search for You. But I can never be satisfied, what I recieve will never leave me desiring more. When You fill my soul I have an ever greater hunger and I grow more famished for Your light. I desire above all to see You, the true light, as You really are Amen.

O Omnipotent Father

O Omnipotent Father, God of truth, God of love, Permit me to enter into the cell of self knowledge. I admit that of myself I am nothing, but all being and goodness in me comes solely from You. Show me my faults, that I may detest my malice and thus I shall flee from self love and find myself clothed again in the nuptial robe of divine charity which I must have in order to be admitted to the nuptials of life eternal Amen.

St. Catherine, Most Blessed

Saint Catherine, most blessed and favoured patron saint, Thou who sought the truth with perseverance, loved the truth in humility, taught the truth in charity, and defended the truth with courage, pray for us. Obtain for us the grace to persevere in truth, to be a light in the darkness of the times in which we live, and to convey to others, both in our written words and in our actions, the responsibility, wisdom, and knowledge to proclaim the truths of our holy faith as proclaimed by the church. O holy Virgin and bride of Christ, whose letters inspired, guided, and led the church to renewal and transformation, obtain too for us the grace to live the truth, the patience to endure the trials and hardships, to carry our Cross in the spirit of prayer and self denial, and to defend the church in it’s hour of crucifixion. We ask these in Christ’s name Amen.

Prayer of Awe

You, O Eternal Trinity, are a deep sea into which, the more I enter, the more I find. And the more I find, the more I seek. O abyss, O eternal Godhead, O sea profound, What more could You give me than Yourself? Amen.

Saint Faustina Kowalska Prayer for the dead

1905-1938
“Apostle of The Divine Mercy Devotion”
Divine Mercy Prayer

O Blood and water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a font of Mercy for us, I trust in You. (From The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy)

. Saint Faustina Kowalska Prayer for the dead

From the Diary of Saint Sister Faustina

“By prayer a soul arms itself for all kinds of combat. In whatever state the soul may be, it ought to pray. A soul which is pure and beautiful must pray, or else it will lose it’s beauty; a soul which is striving after this purity must pray, or else it will never attain it; a soul which is newly converted must pray, or else it will fall again; a sinful soul, plunged in sins, must pray so that it may rise again. There is no soul which is not bound to pray, for every single grace comes to the soul through prayer” (Diary146).

Saint Faustina’s Prayer to Jesus

O Lord, though I cannot comprehend You and do not understand Your ways, I nonetheless trust in Your mercy. If it is Your will, Lord, that I live always in such darkness, may You be blessed. I ask You only one thing, Jesus: do not allow me to offend You in any way. O my Jesus, You alone know the longings and the sufferings of my heart. I am glad that I can suffer for You, however little. (73)

Saint Faustina’s prayer to Our Lady

O Mary, my Mother and my Lady, I offer You my soul, my body, my life and my death and all that will come after it. I place everything in your hands, O my Mother, cover my soul with Your virginal mantle and grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body. Defend me with Your power against all enemies and especially against those who hide their malice behind the mask of virtue. Fortify my soul that pain may not break it. Mother of grace, teach me to live by God’s power. O Mary, a terrible sword has pierced Your Holy Soul. Except for God, no one knows of Your suffering. Your soul does not break, it is brave because it is with Jesus. Sweet Mother, unite my soul to Jesus, because it is only then that I will be able to endure all trials and tribulations and only in union with Jesus will my little sacrifices be pleasing to God. Sweetest Mother, continue to teach me about interior life. May the sword of suffering never break me. O pure Virgin, pour courage into my heart and guard it Amen.

From the Diary of Saint Sister Faustina

“Everlasting love, pure flame, burn in my heart ceaselessly and deify my whole being, according to Your infinite pleasure by which You summoned me into existence and called me to take part in Your everlasting happiness”. (Diary 1523)

From the Diary of Saint Sister Faustina

“O Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out from the abyss of it’s misery to Your mercy, to Your compassion, O God; and it is with it’s mighty voice of misery that it cries out. Graciuos God, do not reject the prayer of this earth’s exiles! O Lord, Goodness beyond our understanding, You who are aquainted with our misery through and through, know that by our own power we cannot ascend to You, we implore You: anticipate us with Your grace and keep on increasing Your mercy in us, that we may faithfully do Your holy will all through our life and at the hour of death. Let the omnipotence of Your mercy shield us from the darts of our salvation’s enemies, that we may with confidence, as Your children, await Your final coming…” (Diary 1570)

Saint Faustina’s Prayer to Jesus

Do what You will with me, O Jesus; I will adore You in everything. May your will be done in me, O my Lord and my God, and I will praise Your infinite mercy. (78)

Lord, that with ineffable providence has designed to choose Saint Joseph as husband for Your holy Mother, let him be our venerated protector on earth and our mediator in Heaven Amen.

Prayers for the deceased by Saint Joseph

Prayer for prevention of a sudden death

Oh, Saint Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so promt before the throne of God. I place in You all my interests and desires. Oh, Saint Joseph do assist me by Your powerful intercession and obtain for me from Your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. So that, having engaged here below Your Heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. Oh, Saint Joseph I never weary of contemplating You and Jesus asleep in Your arms; I dare not approach while he reposes near Your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, Pray for me Amen.

Prayer from the Litany of Saint Joseph

O God, Who in Thine unspeakable providence did vouchsafe to choose Blessed Joseph to be the spouse of Thy most holy Mother, grant, we beseech Thee, that we may deserve to have Him as our intercessor in Heaven whome we venerate on earth as our protector Amen.

Prayer in time of distress

We come to You, O Blessed Joseph, in our distress. Having sought the aid of Your most blessed spouse, we now confidently implore Your assistance also. We humbly beg that, mindful of the affection which bound You to the immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and of the fatherly love with which You cherished the child Jesus, You will lovingly watch over the heritage which Jesus Christ purchased with His blood, and by Your powerful intercession help us in our urgent need. Prudent guardian of the Holy Family, protect the chosen people of Jesus Christ; drive far from us, most loving Father, all error and corrupting sin. From Your place in Heaven, most powerful protector, graciously come to our aid in this conflict with the powers of darkness, as of old You delivered the child Jesus from danger of death, so now defend the Holy Church from the snares of the enemy & from all adversity. Extend to each one of us Your continual protection that, led on by Your example & borne up by Your strength, we may be able to live and die in holiness and obtain everlasting happiness in Heaven Amen.

Memore to Saint Joseph

Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who implored Your help and sought Your intercession was left unassisted. Full of confidence in Your power, I fly unto You, and beg Your protection. Despise not, O foster-father of the redeemer, my humble supplication, but in Your bounty, hear and answer me Amen.

Prayer for a Happy death

O Blessed Joseph, You gave Your last breath in the loving embrace of Jesus & Mary. When the seal of death shall close my life, come with Jesus & Mary to aid me. Obtain for me this solace for that hour, to die with their holy arms around me. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I commend my soul, living and dying, into Your sacred arms Amen.

Act of Consecration to Saint Joseph

O dearest Saint Joseph, I consecrate myself to Your honour and give myself to You, that You may always be my father, my protector and my guide in the way of salvation. Obtain for me a greater purity of heart and fervent love of the interior life. After Your example may I do all my actions for the greater glory of God, in union with the divine heart of Jesus & the immaculate heart of Mary. O Blessed Saint Joseph pray for me, that I may share in the peace and joy of Your holy death Amen.

A Daily Prayer

O Lord, support us all the day long. Until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed and the fever of life is over and our work is done. Then in Your mercy grant us a safe lodging and a holy rest and peace at the last Amen.

John Henry Newman Prayers for the dead

Lead Kindly Light

Lead, Kindly light, amid the encircling gloom. Lead me Thou on! The night is dark and I am far from home, lead Thou me on! Keep Thou my Feet; I do not ask to see the distant scene; one step is enough for me. I was not ever thus, nor pray’d that Thou shouldst lead me on; I loved to choose and see my path, but now lead me on! I loved the garnish day, and, spite of fears, pride ruled my will; remember not past years. So long Your power hath blest me, sure it still will lead me on, o’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till the night is gone; and with the morn those angel faces smile which I have loved long since, and lost a while.

Prayer for a Happy death

Oh, my Lord and Saviour, support me in that hour in the strong arms of Your sacraments, and by the fresh fragrance of Your consolations. Let the absolving words be said over me and the Holy oil, sign and seal me and Your own Body be my food and Your Blood my sprinkling; and let my sweet mother Mary, breathe on me and my Angel whisper peace to me, & my glorious saints smile upon me; that in them all, and through them all, I may recieve the gift of perseverance and die, as I desire to live, in Your faith, in Your Church, in Your service and in Your love Amen.

O My Lord Jesus

O my Lord Jesus, low as I am in Your all-holy sight, I am strong in You, strong through Your immaculate Mother, through Your saints and thus I can do much for the church, for the world, for all I love Amen.

The Mission of my life

God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my misssion. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in the chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught, I shall do good; I shall do His work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it if I do but keep his commandments. Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me. Still He knows what He is about Amen.

Prayer for the Faithful Departed

O God of the spirits of all flesh, O Jesu, lover of souls, we recommend unto Thee the souls of all those Thy servants, who have departed with the sign of faith and sleep the sleep of peace. We beseech Thee, O Lord and Saviour, that, as in Thy mercy to them Thou became man, so now Thou would hasten the time, and admit them to Thy presence above. Remember, O Lord, that they are Thy creatures, not made by strange gods, but by Thee, the only living and true God; for there is no other God but Thou, and none that can equal Thy works. Let their souls rejoice in Thy light, & impute not to them their former iniquities, which they committed through the violence of passion, or the corrupt habits of their fallen nature. For although they have sinned, yet they always firmly believed in the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost, and before they died, they reconciled themselves to Thee by true contrition and the Sacraments of Thy Church. O Gracious Lord, we beseech Thee, remember not against them the sins of their youth and their ignorances; but according to Thy great mercy, be mindful of them in Thy Heavenly glory. May the Heavens be opened to them, and the Angels rejoice with them. May the Archangel St Michael conduct them to Thee. May Thy Holy Angels come forth to meet them, and carry them to the city of the Heavenly Jerusalem. May St Peter, to whom Thou gave the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, recieve them. May St Paul, the vessel of election, stand by them. May St John, the beloved disciple, who had the revelation of the secrets of Heaven, intercede for them. May all the Holy Apostles, who recieved from Thee the power of binding and loosing, pray for them. May all the saints and elect of God, who in this world suffered torments for Thy Name, befriend them; that, being freed from the prison beneath, they may be admitted into the glories of that kingdom, where with the Father and the Holy Ghost, Thou lives and reigns one God, world without end. Come to their assistance, all ye saints of God; gain for them deliverance from their place of punishment; meet them, all ye Angels; recieve these Holy Souls, and present them before the Lord. Eternal rest give them, O Lord. And may perpetual light shine on them.
May they rest in peace Amen.

St Michael, the Archangel, Glorious Prince, Chief and champion of the Heavenly Host; guardian of the souls of men; conqueror of the rebel angels, How beautiful art Thou in Thy Heavenly made armor. We love Thee, dear Prince of Heaven. We, Thy happy clients, yearn to enjoy thy special protection. Teach us ever to repeat the sublime cry: “Who is Like unto God?” Amen.

Almighty and Everlasting God…

Almighty and Everlasting God, who by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel St Michael, Prince of Your Church, make us worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into Your presence. This we ask through the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord Amen.

Prayers of Blessed Mother Teresa

1910-1997

Make us worthy Lord

Make us worthy, Lord, to serve our fellow men throughout the world who live & die in poverty and hunger. Give them through our hands, this day our daily bread, and by our understanding love, give peace and joy Amen.

Mother Teresa's prayers for the dead

Radiating Christ

Dear Jesus, help us to spread Your fragrance everywhere we go. Flood our souls with Your Spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of Yours. Shine through us and be so in us that every soul we come in contact with may feel Your presence in our souls. Let them look up, and see no longer us, but only Jesus! Stay with us and then we shall begin to shine as You shine, so to shine as to be a light to others. The Light, O Jesus, will be all from You; none of it will be ours. It will be You, shining on others through us. Let us thus praise You in the way You love best, by shining on those around us. Let us preach You without preaching, not by words but by example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what we do, the evident fullness of the love our hearts bear for You Amen.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O Good Jesus hear me. Suffer me not to be seperated from Thee. From the malicious enemy, defend me. In the hour of my death, call me and bid me come unto Thee, that with Thy sanits I may praise Thee, forever and ever Amen.

The Memorare (by St. Bernard)

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to Your protection, implored Your help, or sought Your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly to You, O Virgin of Virgins, our Mother; to You we come, before You we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the word incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in Your clemency hear and answer us. Amen.

Prayer by Padre Pio

May your heart always be the tmeple of the Holy Spirit. May Jesus always be the Helmsman of your little spiritual ship. May Mary be the star which shines on your path and may She show you the safe way to reach the Heavenly Father Amen.

Padre Pio Prayers for the dead

A Prayer to Jesus

Lord, God of my Heart. You alone know and see all my troubles. You alone are aware that all my distress springs from the fear of losing You, of offending You, from my fear of not loving You, as much as I should love and desire to love You. If You, to whom everything is present and who alone can see the furure, know that it is for Your greater glory and for my salvation that I should remain in this state, then let it be so. I don’t want to escape from it. Give me strength to fight and to obtain the prise due to strong souls.

Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God, my guardian, to whom the goodness of the Heavenly Father entrusts me. Enlighten, protect and guide me now and forever Amen.

A Prayer to Jesus (2)

Oh my Jesus, give me Your strength, when my weak nature rebels against the distress and suffering of this life of exile and enable me to accept everything with serenity and peace. With my whole strength I cling to Your merits, Your sufferings, Your expiation and Your tears, so that I may be able to cooperate with You in the work of salvation. Give me strength to fly from sin, the only cause of Your agony, Your sweet Blood and Your death. Destroy in me all that displeases You and fill my heart with the fire of Your holy love and all Your sufferings. Clasp me tenderly, firmly, close to You that I may never leave You alone in Your cruel passion. I ask only for a place of rest in Your heart. My desire is to share in Your agony and be beside You in the garden. May my soul be inebriated by Your love and fed with the bread of Your sorrow Amen.

A Prayer to Jesus (3)

May Jesus comfort you in all your afflictions. May He sustain you in dangers, watch over you always with His grace and indicate the safe path that leads to eternal salvation. And may He render you always dearer to His Divine Heart and always more worthy of Paradise Amen.

Prayer to Padre Pio..

O Blessed Padre Pio, holy bearer of the wounds of Christ, accept us this day as your spiritual sons and daughters and keep us always on the narrow path by your intercession. And do thou, O our spiritual father, stay there at the gates of Heaven until all your spiritual children have entered through, even and including me. Through Christ Our Lord Amen.

Prayer to Padre Pio by Pope John Paul II

O humble and beloved Padre Pio, teach us, we ask you, humility of heart so we may be counted among the little ones of the Gospel, to whom the Father promised to reveal the mysteries of His Kingdom. Help us to pray without ceasing, certain that God knows what we need even before we ask Him. Obtain for us the eyes of faith that will be able to recognize right away in the poor and suffering the face of Jesus. Sustain us in the hour of combat and trial, and grant us your tender devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus and our Mother. Accompany us on our earthly pilgrimage toward the blessed homeland, where we hope to arrive in order to contemplate forever the glory of the Father, Son & the Holy Spirit Amen.

Blessed Pope John Paul II Prayers for the dead

Prayer for the intercession of Blessed Pope John Paul II

O Holy Trinity, we thank you for having given to the church Pope John Paul II and for having made him shine with Your fatherly tenderness, the glory of the cross of Christ and the splendor of the spirit of love. He, trusting completely in Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, has shown himself in the likeness of Jesus the good shepherd and has pointed out to us holiness as the path to reach eternal communion with You. Grant us Through his intercession, according to Your will, that he will soon be numbered among Your saints Amen.

Pope John Paul’s Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes

Hail Mary, poor & humble woman, blessed by the most high. Virgin of hope, dawn of a new era, we join Your song of praise to celebrate the Lord’s mercy, to proclaim the coming of the Kingdom and the full liberation of humanity.

Hail Mary, lowly handmaid of the Lord,Glorious Mother of Christ. Faithful Virgin, holy dwelling place of the Word, teach us to persevere in hearing the Word and to be docile to the voice of the Spirit, attentive to His promptings in the depths of our conscience and to His manifestations in the events of history.

Hail Mary, Woman of sorrows, Mother of the living. Virgin spouse beneath the cross, the new Eve, be our guide along the paths of the world. Teach us to experience and to spread the love of Christ, to stand with You before the innumerable crossses on which Your Son is still crucified.

Hail Mary, Woman of faith, first of the disciples, Virgin Mother of the church, help us always to account for the hope that is in us, with trust in human goodness and the Fathers love. Teach us to build up the world beginning from within; in the depths of silence and prayer, in the joy of fraternal love and in the unique fruitfulness of the cross.

Holy Mary, Mother of believers, Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for us Amen.

To the Spirit of light and love

May the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of pentecost, help you clarify what is ambiguous, to give warmth to what is indifferent, to enlighten what is obscure, to be before the world true and generous witnesses of Christ’s love, for no one can live without love.

A Final Prayer

I leave you now with this prayer: That the Lord Jesus will reveal Himself to each one of you, that He will give you the strength to go out and profess that you are Christian, that He will show you that He alone can fill your hearts. Accept His freedom and embrace His truth, and be messengers of the certainty that you will have been truly liberated through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. This will be the new experience, the powerful experience, that will generate, through you, a more just society and a better world.

God Bless you and may the joy of Jesus be always with you Amen.

The Pope’s last audible words, on hearing tens of thousands of young people singing in St. Peter’s square as he lay in his deathbed, Friday 1st April 2005: “I sought you out and now you come to me. Thank you.”
Blessed Pope John Paul II, Pray for us, Amen.

1873-1897

Prayer to St Therese of the Child Jesus

God, Our Father, You Promised Your Kingdom to the little ones and the humble of heart. Give us the grace to walk confidently in the way of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, so that helped by her prayers, we may see Your glory and share in Your Kingdom Amen.

Saint Therese of lisieux prayers of the dead
” I will let fall from Heaven… a Shower of Roses “ – Saint Theresa

Prayer in honour of St Therese

Dear Little Flower, make all things lead to Heaven and God. Wheather I look at the sun, the moon, the stars and the vast expanse in which they float, or wheather I look at the flowers of the field, the trees of the forest, the beauties of earth so full of colour and so glorious, may they speak to me of the true love and power of God; may they all sing His praise in my ear. Like you may I daily love Him more and more in return for His gifts. Teach me often to deny myself in my dealings with others, that I may offer to Jesus many little sacrifices of love Amen.

Miraculous Invocation to St Therese

O Glorious Saint Therese, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and inspire the human family, I implore your miraculous intercession. You are so powerful in obtaining every need of the body and spirit from the Heart of God. Holy Mother Church proclaims you “Prodigy of Miracles, the greatest saint of modern times” Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition and to carry out your promises of spending Heaven doing good upon earth…of letting fall from Heaven a shower of roses. Little flower, give me your childlike faith, to see the face of God in the people and experiences of my life, and to love God with full confidence. St Therese, my Carmelite Sister, I will fulfill your plea “to be made known everywhere” and I will continue to lead others to Jesus through you Amen.

O Holy Little Therese

O Holy little Therese of the Child Jesus, of the holy face who during thy short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity, of love strong as death and of wholehearted abandonment to God, now that thou rejoicest in the reward of thy virtues, cast a glance of pity on me as I leave all things in thy hands.

Make my troubles thine own – speak a word for me to Our Lady Immaculate, whose flower of special love thou wert-to that queen of Heaven “who smiled on thee at the dawn of life.” Beg Her, as queen of the heart of Jesus to obtain for me by Her powerful intercession, the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment & that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life. Defend me at the hour of death & lead me straight to a happy eternity Amen.

A Novena Rose Prayer

O Little Therese of the child Jesus, Please pick for me, a rose from the Heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love.

O little flower of Jesus, ask God today to grant the favours I now place with confidence in you hands…(Mention specific requests)

St Therese, help me to always believe as you did, in God’s great love for me, so that I might imitate your “Little Way” each day Amen.
